Miller Takes Night Two of Illinois SPEED Week at Quincy Raceways
Quincy, IL– Joe B. Miller of Millersville, Missouri wired the field on his way to victory lane for night number two of Illinois SPEED Week with the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series. Starting outside, front row, Miller lurched into the lead at the drop of the green flag and never looked back.
On his way to victory, Miller’s pace was slowed three times. The first, on lap six when Nic Harris ended up spun in turns three and four. Aryton Gennetten ended up upside down, while Caden Englehart caught a slowing car and flipped off the racing surface. All drivers involved were alright, but done for the evening. On lap eight, Levi Curry slowed on the front stretch bringing out the second caution of the night. Three laps later, Scott Sawyer ended up spun on the back stretch after contact, bringing out the third and final caution of the evening.
“The car was rolling great tonight,” said Joe B. Miller. “We had a little issue last night, but felt like we were really fast at Belleville; had a little issue with the motor. We worked today to get the motor swapped.”
“We ran hard all race,” Nick Howard said. “Matt didn’t have such a good start and we were able to rebound. Joe B. was just flat out fast and out ran us tonight. But my dad and uncle gave me the best car they could. I can’t thank them enough.”
“Joe B. was fast,” said Matt Howard. “Me and Nick had a good run. I think he got a little lucky there getting by me. My dad and uncle gave me a great car and my mom helped out a lot. I can’t thank them enough.”
